    Attendance

Regular attendance is important to your child; he/she should be in school every day that health permits. Standard letters are sent to the homes of students after 5, 10 and 15 days of absence. A doctor's excuse is required after 15 days of absence.

The School Laws of Pennsylvania require a written excuse for all absences. If a note is not received, the absence must be considered "illegal". After three (3) illegal absences, certain steps will be taken that will eventually result in a fine.

If a student is absent from school, he/she will not be permitted to participate in any extra-curricular activity after school on that day.

    Temporary Absences

Pupils may be excused from school to participate in an educational trip at the parent's expense. However, a temporary absence form must be completed from the office and returned to school at least ten days prior to the trip. This request must then be approved by the Superintendent prior to the trip being taken.

    Telephone Calls

Teachers are available in their classrooms from 8:00-8:20 am for parent calls and voice mail is available throughout the day. We discourage the use of the telephone by students unless an emergency exists, ie, lost books, lost lunch, etc. Calls for pupils forgetting items or giving messages are NOT permitted. Children must obtain permission from their teacher in order to use the phone.

    Visitors In The Building

All visitor's and parents must first report to the Main Office when entering the building. Also, adults picking up students at dismissal must remain at the school exits until students are dismissed. Adults are not permitted to go to the classroom to pick up students without permission from the office.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

    Medication Procedure

No medication may be given in school unless a medication form is signed by the child's doctor. This form may be obtained from the School Nurse. The medication must be in a labeled pharmacy bottle, not an envelope or baggie. At no time will over the counter medication be given without written order and proper form from the physician. In the event of an emergency or unscheduled sick call, a written note from both parent and physician will be accepted.

Following this procedure ensures the student's health and safety. if you have any questions, please call 946-8392 Extension xxxx for Mrs. Allender.
